My name is Rick My wife and I worked with the original owner since 2009 and purchased the business from the Shettlers in 2013 . We plan on growing the business in many ways to serve you, and keep that high quality craftsmanship that it has always had . The original, owner of J&E upholstery, Jim Shettler, is one of those guys all tradesmen have heard of . He is the guy who took apart a lady's chair to reupholster it and found a bag of money inside. It turned out the customer's late husband had taken money out of the bank to go on a trip, and hid the money in the chair and never told anyone. Jim is a good, salt of the earth kind of guy you meet every once and a while with a good set of morals and beliefs. Jim's son, who worked for him at the time, looked at the money ($10,000!) and said there is one thing I want . His Dad looked back suspiciously at his son, wondering if it was a new pool cue or a set of tires for his car. Jim will admit that devil was sitting right their on his shoulder as well. "No", said his son, "Can I go with you when you return the money?" He knew there would be no question Jim would do just that. He did just that. The lady was very surprised that he found the money. She had been debating on spending money to reupholster the chair, but her kids said, 'That was Dad's chair and he always loved it." So she decided not to throw it out and have it done . We can't promise we will find any money in your piece but if we do you know it we be going back to the people who earned it . We will always cover every piece like it was one-of-a kind and we understand that a lot of people are investing their money into a piece to keep the memories alive. Jim was rewarded enough money so he could use that money to go on a trip to Russia to help build up a poor community there.
